I have a macbook, and I am trying to share my internet through Airport -%26gt; Macbook -%26gt; Ethernet Cable -%26gt; Xbox 360 to get onto Xbox Live.
-What do I manually put as my IP?
-Subnet Mask is 255.255.0.0 or is it 255.255.255.0
-What do I put as my gateway?
Now, every time that my IP has confirmed, the DNS fails. What do I do???
XBOX Live Ethernet Sharing?
So to get this straight I believe you are saying that you are getting Internet through your wireless card and you want to share that internet connection with your XBOX 360.
I'm not a MAC expert, but I am a Cisco Certified Network Professional. Here is what you need to do in general terms...
Look at the settings on your wireless card and write down the DNS address and the IP address.
Hard set your IP Address on the Network Card to...
IP 10.0.0.1
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway Put the IP Address of the wireless card here
DNS same as what was on wireless card.
Hard set the ip address on the xbox 360 to...
IP 10.0.0.2
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 10.0.0.1
DNS Same as what you wrote down from wireless
Good luck, honestly I'm taking an assumption that you can statically (hard code) set the ip address on the xbox 360. So this may not help very much. I guess just ignore what I said and follow the directions in the link.
