The best thing would be to buy a router ( I like Linksys, great customer service ) and connect your DSL modem to it and connect both of your machines into the router or connect with a wireless adapter.
Reply:Buy and attach a wireless router and configure it, and install a wireless NIC into the other computer in the other room. That should be the easiest way.
Reply:hi robit, just got done with a guy that is having the same problem now i can tell you to get a new modem that is for that then i can tell you to get a new router and an adaptor to make me sound like i know what i am doing and beleive robit i am very adanced in pc repair but i am not going to do it because if i give advice i want something that i can beleive that i am helping you if i can. what i would do is and this is what we did is call our local dialup connection and they brought in another modem and it cost us twenty bucks a month. it just don't work i worked for a week before i called my internet provider and tech an i worked for two days before we all gave up. of course they covered themselves by blaming my computer but called a computer repairman and he said that he could not find nothing wrong. so before you spend the kind of money that we did think wouldn't it be better to get something that you know will work? at least before you spent the money you got some outstanding advice. but then who am i gave people advice before and they didn't listen to me so good luck hope i was helpful to you. hope you don't ignore words of wisdom
