I would need a router that can reach about 100ft, have good speed, and last long.
Which is the best router model for long distances? About 100ft.?
Linksys. Use a wired connection even if you will buy a wireless router because wireless connection may not be reliable at 100 ft. Wireless routers have both wired and wireless connectivity.

I use the Linksys WRT54g and it works well. One thing to keep in mind is how much you have between you and the wireless router. For instance, if there are no walls between me and the router then I can connect, in theory, up to 300 feet away. Adding walls and furniture in between brings that way down. One nice feature about the Linksys WRT54G is that you can upload different software to it as to allow you to change the power settings. Off the shelf the power setting on the WRT54G is set at 28mW, but using this software you can up the power to 251mW. Good luck
Reply:Any major brand (D-link, Linksys, Belkin) will get the job done. I have used all 3 brands for years with no failures. My D-Link has outlasted 3 desktop computers. 100 feet is not an issue for any wireless system unless you have a lot of steel or reinforced concrete in the way.
Reply:Wireless N is the latest and greatest in my opinion. I had the Linksys wireless g series and the N outperforms it by far. But opinions come and go and everyone has them.
