How to connect to a router?
There should be a setup disk that came with the router. Use that to configure the router. When you do, the default is Channel 6. Change it to Channel 1. That will remove some interference. If you don't have a disk, go to the router website (Linksys, D-Link, etc.) and get instructions for setting-up the router.
When you disconnect the cable from the router, you would have to have a wireless card installed to make a connection. So, the answer is no, your computer will not connect automatically when you unplug.
Good luck.
