What is 1meg of internet speed when compared to mbps?
1.5meg is mbps. 1.5 is way slower than 6. id stick with 6 mbps.

meg = megabyte.

mbps = megabytes per second.
Reply:I do not know the exact conversion.. But if what you are saying is that on Connection A) you get 6 megabits, and Connection B) you can download at 1.5/megabytes per second.. Then connection B is faster.. Reason... I have a 16/megabit connection with 2/megabit upload.. my 2 megabit upload runs no faster than 250k a sec up and my 16 megabit download runs no faster than maybe 1500-1600 kb a sec. Thus connection B would be faster, at least with the information provided and my guesswork.
Reply:They are really the same thing - they are just trying to confuse you. MBPS stands for "mega bits per second" which is probably the same as another company saying "megs" of speed. Most broadband internet speeds range from 1 to 15 mbps - so 1.5 is on the slow side.
