Something like Apple's new Mobile ME service? I use SyncToy 2.0 to sync between my wi-fi computers right now, but I'd like to be able to share all that content in my common folder with a friend of mine over the internet. Is there a way to do this for free?

Easiest way is to create a virtual LAN across the internet or VPN (Virtual Private Network). This can be slow, but it works. Here is a nice software which allows you to do this. Good luck!
