Hooking up two wireless routers to one modem?

here is my situation:

I have very weak connection with xbox live in my house because people on the four computers are constantly downloading things and using up the signal before it reaches my console. i want to stop lagging out of games. Here is my solution i want to by another wireless router to hook to that modem that will solely go for the xbox 360. will this work. Both routers will be really close to each other. Will it result in weaker connection for both.

He is right and WRONG!

Okay..

It is the same connection. It is the same going through the telephone line.. But, the data is going very fast. So, you almost have unlimited speed. So, it wont lag with two routers.

Wireless isn't that good for Xbox Live. Gameplay is soo big, it takes long to get to the wireless router. Also, the intenna cannot take a lot. It will be better if it was wired. It moves faster. Even if you have the one wireless router, close to the xbox 360, get a 5 foot ethernet cable, and plug it in. It will have a stronger connection.

You can get another router. But, if you have one router already, it may be hooked up through ethernet in the modem. I beleive it only has 1 ethernet, and 1 usb connection. If it has 1 ethernet, then try to get a USB router. The input will be a USB 2.0 connection. Beside an ethernet port.I really don't know your setup.. If you can, please edit details and message me asap.

Another thing is, you can limit the speed the other computers have, so you will have some speed too. Usually, to get in your router configuration, open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1

That shoudl go to it. If you need a password, you can put admin for the username and admin for the password. Or, search on Google for the model number of the router.

Like "Netgear WGR614 default password"

Or, go into your modem settings..

Same goes for modem. But, go on google, and search what is my ip. Click the first link. Then, copy and paste that IP address into a internet explorer. It will go to your modem configuration. If you need a password, and you never set it, search on Google.

Good Luck

But, two routers will work.. I have 3 on the same DSL modem.
