Other than turn off the modem or pull the telephone cable plug out? Don't want my computer uploading when it is not being manned.
Is there a way to work "off line" in XP home windows?
you can limit the programs that access the internet using a firewall... i personally use Kerio Personal Firewall free...
you can also disable the network by right clicking the network icon and clicking "disable" to enable it, go to control panel then 2click the network connections icon then right click the appropriate network icon and select "enable".
