What is the fastest speed possible for internet access?
depends on the service provider---- in japan a company offers wireless speed of 1 gb/s
Reply:The other answer is correct, but in general terms the fastest connection is going to be through cable internet providers like com cast, or time warner. Usually their speeds max out around 8 megabits per second depending on your area.
If you are just asking out of curiosity, then the fastest connections are usually expensive and therefore only big businesses use them.
* T1 - 1.544 megabits per second
* T3 - 43.232 megabits per second (28 T1s)
* OC3 - 155 megabits per second (84 T1s)
* OC12 - 622 megabits per second (4 OC3s)
* OC48 - 2.5 gigabits per seconds (4 OC12s)
* OC192 - 9.6 gigabits per second (4 OC48s)
Hope that helps, good luck!
Reply:For a home internet connection, I believe the fastest connection is a 50M/20M from Verizon FiOS.
