What do you do if I can't connect to internet because there is no default gateway?

the default gateway is your modem so there has to be one. try unplugging it for a few seconds and plugging it back in sometimes this helps

Either





1) Your router or modem is not setup for DHCP. In other words, it's not set to give your computer an IP address. If this is a case ,you'll usually get a 169.254.x.x address on your computer.





2) Your computer is not setup for DHCP





3) The cable connecting the computer to the modem or router is bad.
What do you do if I can't connect to internet because there is no default gateway?
try resetting your cable/dsl modem and router if you have one usually connection will come back. If not reset computer.
