Why does my dsl modem keep disconecting?
This problem is called 'broken link'.Contact your service provider to solve this problem. If your phone no. is on the same as the internet, you require a 'splitter' which is a small box fitted in the internet line otherwise, every time a phone rings/or you make/receive call the link to internet gets broken.

oh, is it that you did not connect properly? or there is a bug?
Reply:You may have bad telephone wiring within your house. Your DSL modem is performing resync to the telephone central office equipment (which is called DSLAM). As suggested before tryuing a DSL filter, there are 2 types, one for the modem and another type for all the other telehphones. Trying moving your DSL modem closer to the point-of-entry that the telephone wires comes in and connect the modem there and then put a splitter filter (ones for the modem) to isolate it from the rest of the house telephone wiring. If your modem is far away from your computer then use Wi-Fi access point. Many DSL modems these days have integrated the Wi-Fi into the modem together with router. Also try to keep other wires that come out of the DSL modem separated, i.e. don't let them cross, this will reduce the chance of interference between the telephone lines and RJ45 (Ethernet) and the AC adapter wires. Last resort is to buy another DSL router with Wi-Fi.
