I would like to have an internet service that does not limit me to Wi-Fi hotspots. I've seen articles online about EV-DO, but I was wondering if anyone has used their service. Do you have to have change your cell phone provider to use their services? What is the cost like when compared to having a wireless connection in your home? What are the pros and cons that anyone has experienced? Thanks!
I'm curious about EV-DO; does anyone have info or experience with this service?
EV-DO is a type of wireless technology, not a service provider. To the best of my knowledge only Verizon and Sprint support EV-DO.
Generically your looking for "wireless broadband", which is offered by all the major cellphone carriers. A.k.a. 3G wireless. Much like a cell phone, when you pick one you will be locked in.
