Slow login on server 2003!! Help!!?

Hi,


I have set up a windows server 2003 and enabled DNS and Active Directory and have now sucessfully set up a network domain. Once i have added my windows xp pro pc's to the domain then i try to log in but it takes ages normally about 3-4 minutes, is there any way to speed it up?





I am using a assigned ip address from the router would i be better with a static ip address?





Any help is greatly appreciated.

check your win ip... wrong win ip will still let you log on but only after the time out

It may get faster connection if you set up DHCP on your DC. That kind of slow usually caused by DNS.
Reply:Try a 3rd party defrag util which is specifically for servers. It can make your life a lot easier!
