Reply:Press CTRL+ALT+DEL. Look at the task manager Processes running. If you seem to have a large amount, google search the names of some .exe's to see what they do. If they are un-needed, end that process (make sure you know what it does first!).

Click on Start -%26gt; Run. Type in "msconfig". When the System Configuration Utility pops up, click on the Startup tab. Untick any unnecessary programs that automatically start up with Windows.

Open the Control Panel and click on Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall any programs you don't use anymore (and also delete their folders in My Programs or wherever you installed it, if necessary).
Reply:Buy a new computer? O.o

2. Download and run Spybot search and destroy to clean out any spyware.

3. Download and run CCleaner to clean out your registry.

4. Add RAM. XP runs best with 512mg of RAM. Vista needs atleast 2 gb.

5. Replace your Hard drive with a bigger/faster one. Hard drives over 50% utilize with show performance degradation. 75% utilized will cause constant fragmentation.

6. Buy a new computer.
Reply:Run spybot, free download.com
Reply:It can be a virus in your computer try getting anti virus to prevent your computer from suffering problem and great damage.

Also if that not not the case your computer might have errors, errors that might shut down your computer suddenly when your in the middle of something while online or off line.

You must try go get a hardriver cleaner that cleans and destroys any errors in your computer i dont know the name of this cleaner but i am sure it will also get rid of spy ware and other add ware your computer might be suffering from.

Try to delete or remove anything that isnt necessary or that u dont use such as games and files that u no longer use.

Also if u both have virus errors other spy wares and cookies try to get an ultra system cleaner the name is not know to me but it will be very costly it will be about around $130 dollars depending on which store to go.

Always go to store like circuit city staples and other stores that can give u a program to remove problem in your computer.

Also try not to add song in your computer since your memory bank might be low always check your memory bank to see if u have sufficient space or insufficient space.

Your computer must at least contain more then have of space to keep your computer going very fast without delay.

Good luck and best wishes.
Reply:first, scan for virus or spyware using AVG and spybot(both freeware).

Secondly, use tuneup utilities(free 30days) to clean the registry and unused files.

Thirdly, defrag the system.using "program-%26gt;accessories-%26gt;system tools-%26gt; disk defragmenter"

And you will see an improvement of about 60-80%.
Reply:There a several reasons why your computer is freezing/slow. First question is when was the last time you cleaned your registry. Having a corrupted registry can cause a whole host of errors and problems. Freezing up is one of them. If you have a lot of unnecessary registry keys that are hogging up your computer resources. Your computer is bound to choke. Scan your registry with a good registry cleaner. If you pull up more than 20 errors or duplication, clean your registry.

2. Depending on your RAM specs and your computer usage. This could also be a the issue. Having an insufficient amount of free space does not allow your RAM to function properly. If you are using a lot of RAM by net surfing or other activities without enough empty space your will get freezes. You don't need to buy new RAM but you should increase your free space by removing unnecessary data and perhaps increasing your virtual memory. The below link will show you how.

3. Spyware could be the culprit, so do a scan and see if your computer is infected.

4. That last area is a hardware drivers. This could be the problem if new hardware has been added to the system. So, the drivers should still be up to date. So try the first two suggestion and see if you can get your computer to stop freezing/speed up.

Check your drivers. Hope this helps.

Reply:Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".

Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

It will help improve your system performance without expensive hardware upgrades.
Reply:Do you have enough RAM, if not upgrade.

Make sure there are no viruses or spyware. Examine the HDD, most often the reason for freezes and lags can be the fragmentation of the drive, if its very high, almost every operation you mentioned gets slow. Its like when you are affected by some sickness, it takes longer to complete any task efficiently, the same happens to a heavily fragmented drive. It has to work extra hard to read fragmented files. Also make sure there is free space on the drive, else delete junk, clear temp files, uninstall unwanted programs and run disk cleanup. Reduce the number of items on the startup list.

Check your power supply, check the fans, ensure there is no heat issue and also clean out dust if they are clogging the vents.
