i currently have windows xp, but i recently have become more interested in linux and i was wondering how do i get the two operation systems on one computer, and i want to be able to switch between the two easily.

you may switch but onely when you sutdown and restart the system you may switch to both the systems and you may not use both operating system at once

The above answer is right, partially; without further research and tweaking they can co-exist but only 1 active, determined to run on the boot time.
Heard of "virtualization"? In computing it is the act of running one OS within another, similar to running one OS in emulation but with the additional requirement that they are native machine codes running in full speed within that sandbox environment without translation.

Shut down your computer and restart it if the problem keeps happening try blocking it. If you still have the problem you may have a virus.

Actiontec modem speed problem? Maxes out at 40kbps? Model - GT724-WG?
My modem is almost brand new, we just got it from TDS(DSL Provider) and have been using it since May. I am not sure how to do this, and I can't call customer support because of problems with my phone. Whenever i try to download (or upload) something, it works great except for the fact that the speed maxes out at 40kbps. I know this isnt my maximum bandwidth, because with our old modem, it went way higher than 200kbps. How do I change my modem to allow me to have higher speeds, both up and down?

Hmm, very good question (unlike the others here...) id suggest buying a different modem, just try a linksys one or something, other than that if your outta money :P perhaps it has some built in software (much like a router), thats capping your bandwidth, or its a faulty unit
Orrr its your ISP all of the sudden cutting down your bandwidth
steps to isolate:
try a different modem of the same type
phone your ISP to see your current max upload/download rates
check another PC

Why aint blizzard doing something about private WOW servers?
There are two possibilities:
1) It's not affecting profits.
2) They can't do anything.

They could use the law and such, but it would be very tedious.
It doesn't affect their profits too much (As people who play on the private servers probably wouldn't caugh up the money anyway) , and there are costs involved in various legal affairs and in the end I doubt it would be worth the trouble.

I do believe the previous poster is incorrect.
Back when blizzard was still updating the games such as starcraft, warcraft 3, diablo, etc. There was a server copycat called PvPGN which was an open source project for those who didnt wish to play on the battle.net restricted servers. As the PvPGN could be used to have higher rankings, and private ablities for clans. About 2 years after the PvPGN was undergoing steady devlopment they faced a law suit for copy cating the Battle.net system aslong with hashing methods of there special game cdkeys.
Thus the project was shut down.
Its only a matter of time before blizzard stands up for WoW.
But the main thing is that most people rather play the real thing, more players.
Reply:Unfortunately the bigger private servers are hosted outside the US, in countries that dont enforce US copyright laws. This makes it a little difficult to do anything. Its also why illegal DVD's come from the same areas.
You can report any private servers to Blizzard by sending an email with a link to the site at hacks@blizzard.com. You'll get a form letter back, but they do check into each and very email. This can also be used if you accounts for sale or hack sites. If its in the US you can bet the operator of it will get a nice letter from Blizzard.
